Cambelt being replaced at Sterling's Onehunga workshop.60+ Years in Onehunga
When it's due
  • At the manufacturer's interval (often around 100,000 km, or by age)
  • A ticking or rattle from the belt area
  • If you don't know when it was last done
  • Buying a used car with no cambelt history
What we do

We replace the cambelt to the manufacturer's spec, and usually the tensioner and water pump at the same time, because they're behind the same cover, doing them together saves you a second labour bill later.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your engine. We quote up front, and we'll advise whether the water pump is worth doing at the same time.
